Sorry all I am late today updating all you special people who are praying for Jim and Jenny. I thought I would share with you that Sherry and I are teaming this up. She is driving so that I can do this email. As I write this part we are going over the bridge in Peoria just Min’s away from the Hospital.
Yesterday was a tuff day for many of those here. Jim probably has had his worst day in ICU. His Blood pressure was all over the place some times it was 202 over 138 and that was in the night time. He was very twitchy with his mouth and tongue. He kept his eyes closed most of the day and when he did open them it was not for long. The Nurse tried to get him to move his feet and hands all day with out success until the early evening and then you could hardly see them move.
We are stopping now I will pick up on the way back home.
Yep, I am back. (I am sure you guys really needed these last two lines)
Yesterday there was no news from the doctors.
Last night he slept twice for two hours each. Then he was twitchy in between. Jim’s grand mother spent the night with him.
Today Jim had an ok day. Doctors have nothing new. He was somewhat like yesterday evening. Then the Physical Therapist came and worked with him and that raised his blood pressure but also seems to relax him and after we got there he was much more attentive and responsive to us. Sherry gave him some water dripping out of the wash cloth on his forehead and in his hair and he likes that a lot.
Jenny did well she worked all day, Grandma and Mom stayed with him.
I was talking to one of Jenny’s friends who also is a Physical therapist and she has read that most cases of GBS take 2-3 weeks to get to the worst part. If we think that it started the day after Christmas it would be two weeks, Hope says today was the start to being at the bottom. For you guys Jim had a bowel movement this after noon, I know that would make me smile as it was the first in over a week. I know Sherry I should not write this. Sorry.
One special thing happened for Sherry and I yesterday afternoon. Elisabeth and Dan Nelson drove up to share some support, and what a blessed surprise that was for us. Thanks so much Elisabeth and Dan for the visit and the wonderful Prayer it sure has carried me.
Those prayers worked today as it did not get worse for Jim.
May God bless you all.
John
