On Sunday morning as you all get ready to go to God house for worship there is so much to be thankful for.
Jim’s trake is really helping him. It seems like he has a much better attitude. He has a smile most of the time, he seems to be able to focus and move his head better. He very much can communicate better. He is mouthing his words slower. That helps us understand what he is mouthing.
Jim received blood yesterday, and was given a bath. He got sick during his bath, oh well.
Jim went 4 hours in the morning with no pain meds, and then 8 hours in the afternoon and evening. About 9 pm he asked for something to help him rest as he was tired. If you remember he has his days and nights mixed up so this was something to see him away all day.
He pretty much can move his head left and right as he needs to while laying down. His feet as moving some but not much more than they did a few days ago. His hands are moving a lot more than they did on Thursday. The biggest improvement yesterday was in his wrists. He is able to raise his hands up slightly from laying flat and wave them left and right like he would be waving hello or saying good bye. I asked for a thumps up and he was able to do some of it like turning his wrist.
Jim’s Dad (Mike) step mother (Mookie) and Sister (Charlie) can use some prayers as they are burning the candle at both ends. The drove up from Tenn. every weekend. The continue to work their jobs, go to school and keep their business going. Mike when he is here spends the nights with Jim. So you know the visitors are not allow to sleep in the room. They must stay away. Mike let us know that he has slept a maximum of 3 hrs a day since Jim has been in the hospital. They arrived her Friday night at 6 pm and will leave here about 9 30 this morning. A 7-8 hour drive and Mookie will drive and Mike will try to sleep and relax.
For those in town or that want to go to Peoria to help this week there will not be a lot of family around especially during the day as Jim’s mother and grandmother do not know when they will be back. That will leave Jim by himself most mornings from 8 30 till 2 30 unless Jenny ends up with her schedule being open at times. Then from 3 30 till approx. 5 when Jenny would get there from work. Don’t forget only two in the room at a time. Sherry and I will probably come over more this week in the evenings after work.
Jim remains anxious so he could use some prayers that his anxiety is reduced and his breathing slows down with longer deeper breaths.
Thanks for all your support.
John
