For Jim and Jenny it pretty much started two weeks ago today. That is when Jim could not raise his right arm above his head. 8 days ago he went on the vent. Here is tonight’s update.

Jenny talked to last nights nurse. She saw him from early evening to 7 am this morning. The nurse thought this morning that he was more attentive that yesterday.

The doctors want to do a ct scan on his abdomin because his blood count continues to go down. The gave him blood yesterday day and it was in the 9 range. Late morning it was 7.7 and early evening it was down to 6.6. The are doing this as a precautionary thing. They think he is producing blood but not fast enough. But they want to Scope and scan for possible problems

Blood pressure was high a couple times today. Once before his blood therapy, once during and once after the treatment. The treatment again went for 1 ½ hours. They treated his blood pressure with med’s.

The vent machine has been adjusted. Now, I know how to build a building but this is over my head. Anyway the nurse says there are two good things. They reduced something and his numbers stayed the same. Also his breaths per minute are 19 or 20 most of the time and the machine is set for 18 and this means he is doing some of it by him self. The next thing with the vent is the tube normally can only be in 10-12 days. But in Jim’s case they might let it in longer. Nurse thinks at about 12 days witch is 5 days from now they will start looking to see if they think he will be good enough to take him off in the next 3-5 days .If they don’t they so, the next thing to do is the Trake which the nurse says is good for a couple reason’s. One it will reduce the chance of infection and will be easier for him to be wiened from the vent. Along with it being more comfortable.

Jim looks very comfortable tonight compared to the last several days. But then how does one say comfortable when you lay in bed and can’t move, talk,or breath on his own.

Lots of good things tonight because of God’s grace and your prayers. His color to Sherry and I is much better. To all he seems even more attentive than last night. Tonight he can close his eye’s tight and his eye brows move down. I felt a slight move of his right hand when the nurse asked him to move it. Slight is not much. His right foot big toe moved slightly. He can move his head slightly left and right and up and down more direct than yesterday. One of the many doctors stopped Jenny in hall and told her that he even thought Jim was doing a little better. I have a bad cold and sinus infection so I put a mask on, when I walk up and he could see me you could tell he tried to laugh with my mask on. I may not forget that. My way of God saying to me that Jim is on his way to getting better.

Tonight they gave Jim some med’s, those have made him relax and be very sleepy. Sleep is good it will help him heal and recover faster

The house angel visited the Van Grinsvens today and cleaned, Angel’s are special and this one went above board. Love ya house Angel.

Nicole is back at school tomorrow, she is taking her Comp exam’s to make sure she is were she should be. Please say a prayer to help her as she has been a big help to Jenny the last two weeks. Not much time for her to study. Good luck Nicole, stay focused you can do this

Jenny seems tired, hopefully tonight she will rest. She is by herself tonight so Jim needs a good night.

A little lengthy but good news is exciting and fun share, thanks for the prayers they are truly working.
