Day 55 for Jim brought some fun. In the morning he had the same nurse that admitted him to the hospital. That led to her not wanting to do some things like taking his temperature. That was only because Jim was going home soon after lunch when Jenny got there to pick him up. What a day after the last almost couple months. Jim was heading home to see his friend Sir. Barkley. Their dog has been looking for Jim for a long time. That meeting would come after having to make a trip to pick up his drugs. Jenny drove in the driveway and let Jim stay in car, she went in to get Sir. Barkley and brought him out to the car because the PT’s were afraid that he would get to excited and knock Jim over knocking him to the ground. the car door was opened and up on Jim’s lap Sir Barkley jumped and was happy to see his friend. Jim found his way to the house with some big effort he made it in. The house was decorated with balloons and decorations with a sign welcoming him home. Jim and Jenny’s friends visited the night before and spruced up the house. Jim was happy to be there and Jenny was happy to have him there. No more trips for Jenny, what a relief.
When we got there Jim was comfortable on the couch. It was more comfortable that any of the beds over the last almost 8 weeks. It was a blessing to see the Thin Man buried in the soft pillows with a smile on his face. We were there to put a hand held shower head in the shower. We had planned to do that Friday but they moved his return home date up unexpectedly.
So many prayers were answered and so much to be Thankful for. God has helped the Crone/Van Grinsven family again. How Blessed are we too have our God, our family’s and our fiends. Thank You all for your help.
Jim has a long way to go before returning to work. He started his Physical therapy at Jenny’s work today already. No rest for the weary. Jim made it up the stair last night to sleep in his own bed. This morning he took a shower and down the stairs to visit what will be his friend for some time to come the couch. Jim is moving slow when walking and quickly becomes short of breath. Bradley University will not let him come back to work till he has a Dr’s note. They think that might be 4-6 weeks. Today Jim did not feel well, a bad day at home is still better than a good day at the hospital.
Jenny’s plan is to be off the rest of this week and all of next week. This should help both of them.
Thanks for all your continued prayers for Jenny and Jim, they have been answered. I do not plan to give to many more updates unless they are some major changes both good or bad. So you should expect only good reports in the future.
God Bless you All!
John
