Hi Everyone!
Amazing how the power of prayer works.
At the time the email was sent yesterday there was a lot of emotions running high. Today they are much calmer.
Jim has been admitted to the hospital and received his first IVIG last night. All went well. He did not get hooked up until 7 30, the first site did not work but the second did. After all he has been thru he still does not like those needles. Soon after he was hooked up they found out that the reason he was admitted to hospital was to only have the IVIG. The out patient IV unit was 5-6 days out and they wanted treatment to start ASAP. See your prayers worked.
Today he was doing well, some normalcy except for strength in arms and legs. About the same as the last 5 days. Early afternoon a Doctor told him the could start the second treatment earlier than thought. It started about 2pm and will take less than 6 hours. More good news from the prayers is Jim is going home tonight. Praise God.
Jim will next 2-3 more treatments. No news yet when they will be nor do we know if it is out patient, in patient or maybe at home. No news on what the doctors are thinking. But it is not get worse for Jim.
Jenny has that strong faith from her mother. She has the strong patience from her father (ha ha ya right, more like impatience) She has pulled the booth straps up and is back to herself. Praise God.
Sure wish we had more information, and I know Jenny and Jim would like more also. The good news is that it is not worse.

The research doctor that came in late after noon told them that normally when something like this happens they call it a Chronic Version. They have so many versions of chronic that they do not know where it is at until it happens several times. They will not know how long it will last. It will take a long time before they figure that out. To see any results from the IVIG will take days. If there is some good that will be great. After a couple times that will help them know what version he might have and then they may be able to treat it another way with drugs. So many versions with so many different drugs.
They know the antibodies from the Guillian Barre will be in him forever so when he gets anything that affects those antibodies he will have a problem. To what degree he will not know until it happens and has some history. If you understand this good for you.
They prayers for the doctors knowledge worked, they now know it will take some time before they can put together a treatment game plan when he has problems. At least at this time the Doctors do not feel like the full version is coming back. All the praise goes to God. Thank You!
