I did not end up going to Peoria. Jenny was able to cancel most of her appointments. This is one of the phone updates from Sherry this afternoon.
Jenny called a short time ago and the doctor had just been in to see Jim. Here is the updated info:
- Jim is stronger today than yesterday, at least in his hips. His arms are still weakened.
- He doesn’t know why Jim spiked a temp but does not believe it is related to the IVIG treatments this far out.
- Jim has protein in his urine. The doctor will check with the nephrologist to see if it could be related to the IVIG treatments, but again, he doesn’t think so this far out
- Jim’s temp is now 98.8, so he is still running some fever. But is less than the 101.? last night.
- He explained that the reason for the weakness, is that Jim’s nerves are trying to recover and they don’t do well with heat. Consequently, the fever caused him to become further weakened.
- He plans to run some more cultures.
- Will probably keep him over night again tonight, but will most likely move off the ICU unit to a regular room.
Jenny is probably going to go home and sleep for a couple of hours this afternoon, as she only slept about an hour last night.
That’s it for now.
Tonight’s news is that Jim is changing rooms. He is leaving ICU which is good and going to a regular room. He will be able to have a phone is this room. For right now they do not know how long he will stay in the hospital. Jenny and Jim were schedule to come to Champaign tomorrow evening but that has been canceled.
Thanks for all the prayers,
John
